The LMSA scholarship program was established in 1948 by then President Dottie Leet. Originally funded by a tea and fashion show, then by the successful Holiday Luncheon and Bazaar, and now the Sunset Soiree. We average awarding $9,000 per year in scholarship money to local college students studying areas of allied health. These include: nursing, physical therapy, medical technology, clinical nutrition, occupational therapy, clinical laboratory science, respiratory therapy, nuclear medical technician and radiation therapy. Dental careers and physician assistants are excluded. Graduate programs are not considered, but internship for B.S. degree programs will be considered if they are part of a regular training course. Priority is given to students who intend to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, those who have financial need and non-traditional students with unique struggles. The application process begins in the summer, with interviews conducted in August. For more information, please utilize the "Contact Us" page.
